Flexible rubber flooring

sscThe flexible surface provided by Synchronicity is a protective surface coating poured on site, specially developed to respond to the safety requirements of playgrounds. Its shock-absorbing and anti-slip features ensure the safety of the users and its integral composition makes it suitable for intensive use. Its installation is checked to guarantee impact mitigation in accordance with European Standard EN1177.
In addition, its suppleness allows us to adapt the impact surface to the shape of the play equipment and to harmonise the colours and patterns of the environment. Finally, it requires little maintenance, which is ideal for public playgrounds.

Our aim is to make the mandatory safety element sustainable and aesthetically pleasing for your playground.


Our flexible surface is poured over a dry, stable concrete or coated base. Where the base is a concrete slab, the perimeter may be delineated by concrete P1 edging or by core-treated laths. In the case of coating the perimeter is demarcated by a slot into which the excess surface topping runs.


The Synchronicity surface comprises 3 layers:

  • An adhesive primer on the PU resin base of the surface;
  • A shock-absorbing undercoat in SBR rubber (except for the top 10 mm)
  • • A topping of EPDM rubber, 10 mm thick, dyed in the mass (*) UV and trampling resistant.

The base is cleaned and dried before the first phase. The surface temperature must be between + 5° C and + 30° C during the entire construction period. Operations must be stopped if it rains.

Phase 1: Adhesive primer is applied with a roller over the entire surface

Phase 2: Shock absorbing sub-layer, a mix of SBR rubber (granules of black rubber) with polyurethane resin in a fixed tank vertical shaft mixer.

Phase 3: EPDM rubber topping, a mix of granules dyed in the mass in the mixer. Manual application using a plastering float

The aim of regular maintenance of the safety surface is essentially to maintain its features by preventing the pores from becoming blocked by dust and fine particles.
